A $500.00 CAD damage deposit is required from the customer to cover any potential losses, expenses to recover or repair the items, legal fees, and administrative costs. The deposit will act as a hold (without charging the financial institution) via Stripe until the end of the post-event inspection (we will not have visibility of the credit card information per the app).
***For debit card submissions, Stripe on behalf of DIYLuxe may charge the account directly due to the nature of a debit account.
The customer will be solely responsible for the care put onto the contracted items during the contracted time or the pick-up time until returned to the vendor. Any damage to items will be billed fairly and appropriately against this damage deposit.
Terms and Conditions: Ensure any damages or discrepancies from the original item condition are reported prior to use or on the delivery day. A $500.00 CAD damage deposit, required from the customer, safeguards against potential losses, recovery expenses, repairs, legal fees, and administrative costs. This deposit, held by Stripe (a trusted third-party payment app), remains untouched until the post-event inspection's conclusion. We lack visibility of credit card information per Stripe's policy. The customer bears sole responsibility for the rented items' care throughout the agreed-upon period. DIYLuxe reserves the right to deduct the determined amount directly from the damage deposit. We hold no liability for personal property damage involving rental items. Damage costs are calculated based on total expenses (labor, transportation, goods, etc.) to replicate the items, plus any revenue loss, capped at the damage deposit amount. Please note that we may retain the damage deposit for up to 24 hours after the return to thoroughly inspect the equipment for any damages or deviations.
