Damage Deposit
A $500 CAD damage deposit is required for all rentals to cover potential losses, repairs, replacement costs, administrative costs, or other expenses related to damaged or missing items. The deposit is submitted securely through Stripe and is held as a temporary authorization (pre-authorization). DIYLuxe does not have access to your credit card information. For debit card submissions, Stripe may temporarily charge the account directly due to the nature of debit transactions. The damage deposit may be held for up to 48 hours after the rental items are returned while the equipment undergoes a post-event inspection.
If no issues are identified, the authorization will automatically be released
Responsibility for Rental Items
The customer is responsible for the care and condition of all rented items from the time of pickup or delivery until the items are returned to DIYLuxe. Any damages, excessive cleaning, missing items, or misuse may result in charges being deducted from the damage deposit. Damage costs are determined based on the full cost required to repair or replace the item, including labour, materials, and procurement costs. If an item cannot be rented while repairs are completed, reasonable loss of rental income may also apply, up to the damage deposit amount. DIYLuxe may retain the damage deposit for up to 48 hours after return to complete the inspection process.
All other terms and responsibilities are outlined in the DIYLuxe Terms and Conditions
